A Weekend Away... (A Good One)

It was a great weekend...  Logan and I went to Grafton (the Grafton area, I guess) to visit with our good friends Dan and Nancy Vogel.  Logan got a chance to learn more about gun safety from Dan, who is an excellent (but harsh) teacher. :)  Dan and I finished insulating the attic of his home, a job we'd started two weeks ago.  I am sure we'll have a chance to enjoy the fruits of our labor when we visit again this winter.

We also had the chance to visit the Pioneer Farm Machinery Club of Oak Creek, WI tractor show.  Dan and Nancy's son Jason is in love with tractors, not to be outdone by the excitement that his parents feel.  Let's just say that I learned more about tractors in the past month than I probably ever thought I could AND reflected on John-Boy Walton.  Dan and Nancy left with their son around noon, as Jason had reached his pinnacle level of excitement.  Logan and I stayed longer where he entered the "Tractor Pedal Pull" competition and took third place!  Whooo hoo!  It was a fun day.  After playing the rest of the afternoon, it was time to head home.

I did manage, as I was in the car, to listen to the Packer game where the Atlanta Falcons were crushing the Green and Gold with a score of 14 to zip... Then... the second half started and 20-some unanswered points later, the Green Bay Packers beat the Falcons and have gone to 5 big W's and 0 in the LOSS column.  :)

Another Day....

As I search for WHAT to say, I realize it doesn't matter...  I am sorting things out for the day and sometimes a BLOG can be the start of ones focus!  It is beautiful here in Cedar Rapids and the temps are climbing today.  So, that celebratory Packers Superbowl sweatshirt is going to probably be TOO warm later.  So... time to pull out the shorts and head out to help some students through their days!

Thank You, Katrina...

Today, I begin my first really dorky computer thing with no expectations of people reading...  However, if you are so inclined, check back!  I'd like to thank my wonderful niece, Katy, for helping me to begin this process!  I love ya, Katrina McJo!
